Easter at Tuross

For the fourth year in a row, we spent Easter down at Tuross with Dallas, Jo, Maya, Matt, Jane and Margot. We all had a great time.

A bad photo but it illustrates the occasional chaos.

Margot and Elliot log jumping

The weather was perfect and the water lovely. I think this is Elliot's only dip, generally being more of a bath man.

Borrowed your shirt Kirk... hope you don't mind.

Elliot, Jo and Zoe in the small lake formed near the outlet. There was a lot of pumice all over the beaches which was fun to play with. Apparently from an underwater volcano near NZ.

Moments after this picture was taken, Elliot got his first beach safety lesson when a small but powerful wave took us all by surprise.

Toddlers pwned Tuross

There may have been some boating hijinks.

Zoe's birthday weekend in Canberra

Zoe loved the beautiful cake with a surprise in the middle made by the decorative cakes masters Louise and Sarah.

Elliot had a great time playing bat and ball with Chloe and mum.

Bundanoon is Brigadoon

We drove down early on the weekend to Bundanoon for the Scottish fling. The weather was suitably cold and wet. The haggis was fine, the pipes were loud and the tablet was consumed in excess.

Elliot enjoyed strutting around in this tartan hat. He ate and enjoyed his first haggis, although it was very non-traditionally slavered in HP sauce.

I think that is Australian tartan.

We had a great time seeing Dan as the drum major, throwing the mace around his head and warming up his pipes.

Debbie and Zoe both went in the tartan dash (100m-ish). Zoe face some tough younger opposition in the open ladies  and came in fourth. Debbie, barefooted on a dead track, came a comfortable second in her category.
