Mission Beach to Townsville

Mission Beach is a rain forested set of beaches halfway between Townsville and Cairns. It gave the impression that it was the 'South Coast' of Cairns- simple and friendly. We stayed in great resort style accommodation which by far the best place we stayed and no more in cost. Zoe was getting over her cold and we were all starting to feel very relaxed.
Hunting for Cassowaries
Sweeping the beach- an endless task
Sandcastles under the mangroves
Hanging out in the retro bus stop
A water hole on the way to Townsville
Townsville- we didn't get enough photos here but we had a good couple of nights. One trip to the doctor after a mumps scare led to Elliot getting some antibiotics which finally got rid of his hacking cough. Highlights were running up Castle Rock, the fantastic water park with a huge car sized tipping bucket and the turtle hospital.
Next stop Magnetic Island
