Today we went to New Shanghai in Ashfield for lunch. An old classic which has recently gone slightly more upmarket with exposed brick walls, a lick of "Chinese-style" stencilling and a slight increase in pricing. Reassuringly the dumplings remain excellent and the service remains surly.
Elliot had a great time with his chop sticks although rejected all dumplings and seaweed salad for a Vegemite and cheese bun.

Blaxland Riverside Park- we need a montage
Nothing could rain on our visit to Blaxland Riverside Park today- that included the rain and the proximity of the Silverwater Correctional Facility.

Bicycle built for two
Elliot's second family bike ride (after a very rocky ride in San Francisco) was very successful. We rode down the canal to a park by Iron Cove in Leichardt. Elliot enjoyed it. Most surprisingly he loves wearing his helmet and the seat seems pretty comfy. Thanks Grandpa Cameron and Granny Linda and Grandma and Grandpa Roberts for the gear.

The Hippo at the park is a favourite. It includes graphical representations of the Hippo's internal organs on the floor. Cool!

Knapsack race 2013
The Knapsack is a three or six hour 5km loop race in Glenbrook on Australia Day. Mum and Dad entered as a three hour pair and completed seven laps.Elliot is a veteran of this race after we ran when he was just under two months. We only completed six laps that year and Zoe only ran one. Happy with the improvement but the winning teams completed eight. Next year?! Elliot had a great time despite being a little fluey.
