Katoomba pizza joint where the kids get to roll their own dough...
...and bake then eat it.
Practicing bushwalking for Cairns
Showing dad the way, with sticks. Sticks are important.
We spent the weekend in Kotoomba with Dallas, Jo, Maya, Kelsey, Ethan, Aurora and Archer. It was a kid filled weekend and a lot of fun.

To the park on the light rail

The light rail extension has just opened near our home. Its a very pleasant trip through the suburbs to Central. This park is on the way by the water in Glebe.

A light rail fan.

He did make it.
No adults allowed, apparently.
Zoe and Elliot enjoying fine choc-chip biscuits.

At the zoo with Ama

Ama is a meerkat

Giraffes, just because.

Mum enthusiastically attempting to win a photo competiton in the Zoo magazine with matching zebra dress and zebra necklaces. Unfortunately Elliot's zebra pants didn't survive the morning.
Barely distinguishable.

Elliot made instant friends with this little girl in the gorilla viewing tunnel. She was overheard to say to Elliot "I like your necklace".

Flying a kite

Its cold and windy in Sydney as we approach the solstice. We went to the always photogenic Sydney Park this afternoon to fly our new Aldi kite. The kite didn't fly very well but we had a good time rolling back down the hill.

Elliot's first trip to Emergency

Elliot fell out of a hammock at Murray House yesterday. He received a reasonably long and deep laceration to the back of his head. Fortunately he remained conscious and hasn't had any other ill effects. Luckily there is a dedicated nurse at the Infants Home and he was quickly seen and bandaged up. The nurse at Murry House was really good.

Dad picked him up and we went off to the GP who advised RPA ED. There is a pediatric ED with lots of toys and Elliot had a great time in the waiting room with another head-injured kid who had fallen down some stairs. Elliot was incredibly brave while the doctor literally glued his scalp back together. He sat very still and didn't let out much more than a little squeak.

He is as happy as ever today and the wound is looking pretty good.

Quick travel tip- not for the squeamish- the doctor informed me that he had actually used off-the-shelf superglue to treat a laceration on his own foot while holidaying in South East Asia. It stings apparently.

Getting out of the car to go to hospital- note the bandaged bear.

The toy-packed pediatric ED at RPA- glad we didn't go to Bankstown!

A visit to Port Botany

On the way home from Bare Island we visited the cranes and tanks of Port Botany. Great spot for some wintery concrete family portraits.

Bare Island, La Perouse

A cold winter day walking around Bare Island. Elliot loved climbing and jumping around the rocks. We couldn't make it around the entire island because of the height of the swell.
